How do I enter a chat room?- If you are already in chat, click on 'Find a room a room' in the navigation bar at the top of the chat window, then click on the name of the room you wish to enter.
- If you don't yet have the chat window open, click on the name of the room you wish to enter in the list and you will be taken straight there.
How is the chat window organised?- At the top, you will see a navigation bar, which allows you to move to another room ("Find a chat room"), see a list of members who are online ("Find a member"), or leave Chat ("Quit").
- Underneath this, is the chat zone, on a white background. When someone sends you a message, it will show up on a yellow background.
- Below this is the text area, where you type your messages for other people who are in the same chat room.
- On the right, you will see a list of the members who are connected in that chat room. Right-click on a name to chat in private, see their profile and add them to your contact list.
- On the left of the text area you have a range of smilies and a colour palette to use in your messages.
How many chat rooms can I be in at once?- You can be in as many chat rooms as you like. Not only can you chat in several different places at once, but you can also have many different private chats going on at the same time. Change conversation by using the navigation bar above the chat zone.
- As soon as you receive a message in a different room, the name of the room will flash to let you know.
How do I leave a chat room?- To leave an active chat room, just click on the cross [x] to the right of the name of the room.
How do I start a private chat?- To start a private chat, or "PV", either double-click on the name of the member you want to chat with, or right-click on their username and choose "Private chat".
How can I put someone on my black list?- To put someone on your black list, (which means that you will no longer be able to read the messages they write in the chat rooms, or have private chats with them), right-click on their username and click "black list".
How do I remove someone from my black list?A member is causing trouble in the chat rooms, I'd like to let someone at soFeminine know.- If there is a problem, you can alert one of our moderators by right-clicking on the member's name and choosing "alert".
How can I see someone else's profile?- To see the profile of another member using the chat room, right-click on their username in the list of members who are logged-on, and choose "See profile". You will only be able to see their profile if they have filled in their details, and want other people to be able to see them.
I don't want to have any more privat chats (PVs).- If you don't want to receive any more PV messages, tick the "No more PVs" box below the members list.
- If you decide you want to have private chats again, click on the box once again.
- Disabling the PV feature will only work until you log on again.
The chat window is too small!- To change the size of your chat window, edit your options by clicking on "Options" in the left-hand column on the Chat home page.
You will have to close the Chat window and re-open it again for your settings to be saved.

Are there any more smilies??- Yes, loads! To use a hidden smiley, type "s", followed by a number in square brackets, "[s45]" for example. Replace the 45 with the number of your choice (from 1 to... how knows, you'll have to find out!), but don't forget the square brackets!
