The Strokes Record Marvin Gaye Cover

The Strokes have recorded a new version of Marvin Gaye's Mercy Mercy Me.

According to Billboard magazine, the American group also had the help of Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, and Josh Homme, of Queens of the Stone Age.

The song, which should be released in mid-July, features Vedder sharing the microphone with Julian Casablancas, while Homme plays the drums alongside Fabrizio Moretti.

The Strokes released their third album, First Impressions of Earth, in January.
