The 'Leon' actor was airlifted to a Caribbean hospital on Wednesday morning (20.08.08) after he collapsed at the wheel of his car while on holiday with his wife, Zofia. A source said: "All of a sudden he was gripped by a fever, breaking out into a cold sweat and feeling nauseous." However, reports the 60-year-old star suffered a heart attack have been denied by his publicist Christina Papadopoulos, who also dismissed claims the actor was taken to an intensive care unit. Christina said: "Reports that actor Jean Reno is in the hospital due to a heart attack are false. "He is vacationing in the Caribbean and went to a local hospital as a precaution for some discomfort he was feeling due to heartburn and gastroenteritis. "It was definitely was not a heart attack. He is fine and healthy and enjoying the rest of his vacation travelling in the Caribbean. "I think he was just enjoying vacation and probably ate a little too much spicy Caribbean food." Jean was staying at the holiday home of French pop star Johnny Hallyday - who, along with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, was best man at Jean's 2006 wedding - on the idyllic island of St. Barts when the incident occurred. |
