Celebrated French filmmaker Luc Besson has accepted an offer to direct the presentation film for Paris's bid for the Olympic games, Paris 1212. Besson, known for his films, The Professional, The Fifth Element and Taxi, will direct the short film promoting the French capital. The film will be shown to the members of the Olympic Comittee on July 6th in Singapore, the day they vote for the location of the 2012 games. Paris is in competition with cities such as London (with support from Mick Jagger), New York and Madrid to hold the Olympic Games. |
