Waif supermodel, Kate Moss was born in 1974 and raised in Croydon, Surrey. She was spotted at JFK airport by Sarah Doukas when she was just fourteen. The Corrine Day picture of Kate topless, wearing a Native American headdress made the front cover of 'The Face' and a star was born. She has appeared on the cover of thousands of magazines since, and remains the favourite subject of photographic genius, Mario Testino. At just 5ft 7in, Kate Moss is not your typical catwalk candidate. However, she has revolutionised the modelling scene and with an estimated £15 million, is Britain's wealthiest clothes horse. Her career has spanned more than a decade, thanks to her hip sense of style and ability to reinvent herself. In the new millenuim she lopped off her long hair, emerging a peroxide blonde: the fashion houses fell over themselves to use her in their campaigns and she signed to Gucci, headed by designer-of-the-moment, Tom Ford. Kate has been linked to a string of trendy guys including photographers, Mario Sorrenti and Dan Macmillan, Hollywood heart throb, Johnny Depp and 'Lemonheads' singer, Evan Dando. She has a daughter, Lila Grace, with former 'Dazed and Confused' editor, Jefferson Hack (from whom she split in 2004). A consumate party girl, Kate counts Noel Gallager, Jude Law, Stella McCartney, Donatella Verscae, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sadie Frost among her friends.
