In 1992, he and Public Announcement released the R&B smash, 'Born into the 90's'. The subsequent album '12 Play' (1993), made him a superstar.
In 1994 he produced Aaliyah's debut album 'Age aint Nothing but a Number' and it came to light that the two had shared a very short marriage. Kelly went on to write and co-produce 'You are Not Alone' for Michael Jackson and, in 1996 he won a Grammy for 'I Believe I can Fly'. 'Gotham City' (1998) is his best selling album to date. In 2002 he hit the headlines again, when he was embroiled in a sex scandal with an underage girl. |
