New Zealand born producer, Peter Jackson, received his first 8mm video camera at the tender age of eight, and he has never looked back. His trademark, of low cost special effects, has grown however, to the staggering heights of his 'Lord of the Rings' Trilogy (2001-2003).
Jackson is married to screenwriter, Frances Walsh, with whom he has two children, Billy and Katie. The couple write all their own film scripts together and can also be seen acting cameos.
Jackson puts his film inspiration down to the 1933 hit, 'King Kong'. The script for its re-make took the couple ten years to perfect (before Universal gave them the go-ahead) with filming due to finish later in 2005.
