Born on 7 the August 1960 in New York, David was a shy, reserved child. He holds a university degree from Princeton and later studied English literature at Yale, but passed up the chance of an academic career for acting, with his first role in 'Working Girl', opposite Harrison Ford and Melanie Griffith in 1988. He also appeared in the series 'Twin Peaks' and worked with Brad Pitt on 'Kalifornia', but is most famous for his role as FBI Agent Mulder in 'The X Files', for which he earned $6 000 000 a year. He is married to fellow actress Téa Leoni, with whom he has a daughter.
