While many envy your slinky frame, skinny girls often find getting dressed is not always as easy as it may seem. Whether you're trying to create curves or just finding something that fits properly, there are some annoying challenges that come with shopping for a slender frame. But not anymore! Check out our skinny girl fashion advice for style without the stress.

It often seems like skinny is what every woman wants to be, but if you were born with a naturally slim build, you know more than anyone else how hard it can be to feel sexy and confident when your curves are nearly non-existant.

We feel your self-doubt, and we're here to help! Getting dressed for your slender, sought-after body should be fun, enlivening, and confidence boosting. No need to stress!

Follow these simple steps to dressing for your slim shape...

Your Skinny Girl Shopping List:

  • Bold Colours
  • Striking Prints
  • Heavy Fabrics
  • Elaborate Necklines
  • Pencil Skirts
  • High-Waisted Skirts
  • Shorts
  • Flared Pants
  • Straight Leg Trousers
  • Belts
  • Heels

Here's why they work...

Be Bold

If you're trying to not appear as slim as you are, avoid head to toe black as it is slenderising. Stand out and sport fashion statements such as monochromatic suits and head to toe prints. Jumpsuits are another great way to put on a show if you're feeling daring.

Know Your Pants

When you already are thin, there's no need to accentuate it by throwing on a pair of skinny jeans. Instead, opt for straight leg trousers or boot-cut flared pants.

Straight leg trousers or cigarette pants will allow you to achieve that sleek, chic look so many are searching for.

Flared pants are perfect for adding some curves into your bottom half. Looking to add a little height to your stature? Invest in a pair of flared pants and wear a pair of platforms underneath to add some extra inches.

Layer It Up

Wearing layers will aid in adding volume to your stick-thin frame. This means load on the leather, knits, and wools! When done correctly, layering is a great way to change up an old look. Try to wear one type of each kind of fabric for a flawless, and not to mention warm, ensemble.

Smart Skirts

When wearing skirts, make sure you know what each silhouette will do for your body.

A-line skirts are great for adding fullness to your hips and creating a small waistline.

Pencil Skirts work best to highlight your natural waist and accentuate your hips.

Mini Skirts are great for showing off your legs and lengthening your look.

Whichever style you may choose, make sure you feel comfortable and confident!

Belt It Up

If you're frame is slim and straight, add a belt to the thinnest area of your torso to create dimension and define some curves. Thin belts are wonderful for wrapping yourself up. Keep it simple and subtle.

Who Wears Short Shorts?

You were gifted with slender, beautiful legs, so show them off! Shorts are a great way to bring attention to your legs, and away from your flat top half. Just make sure you cover up on top when you rock shorter hemlines to avoid looking like you're headed to the club.

Add A Heel

Because why not? Heels not only will make you look sexier, but they will make you feel sexier. If you're already tall, then go for a lower heel height. Short and skinny? Go for those 4 inch pumps you've been lusting over. We guarantee your confidence will radiate as you walk!

What NOT To Wear:

  • Tight, clingy fabrics
  • Skinny jeans
  • V-necklines
  • Too much black
  • Baggy clothing
