Everyone loves to talk about fashion, fashion, fashion when it comes to award shows but what about the beauty?! We zoned in on some of our favourite stars to see how they decided to style their hair and makeup for last night's Golden Globes. We were pleased to see lots of different looks. Here's the ones we're hoping we see much more of this awards season!

Amy's pretty updo

Amy said she took a cue from her sultry American Hustle character when it came time to pick a dress, and we couldn't love her choice more. But instead of going for the big waves that she wore throughout the film, she opted for a romantic updo allowing the gorgeous cut of the gown - and the stunning long pendant she topped it off with - to take center stage.

Cate's natural look

Who wasn't utterly captivated by Cate's turn as a neurotic housewife-turned-homeless in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine? Last night, Cate proved once again that you don't need much makeup to look truly beautiful. She wore stunning diamond statement earrings and opted for a pretty barefaced look, donning pink lipstick and lovely eyelashes alongside her pale skin and dramatic black dress.

Sofia's loose waves

It's always exciting to see what Sofia will bring to the red carpet. Per usually, she didn't disappoint with a voluminous black gown and an eye-catching turquoise statement bib necklace. What we really love, though, are those soft waves! They were the perfect compliment to an otherwise dramatic and slightly daring look.

Jennifer's bold lip

We loved the juxtaposition of a bold, deep lip color against JLaw's blonde pixie haircut and long white gown. The dark touches - berry-stained lips and the black belted detail on her dress - really highlighted the rest of Jen's bright, light look. Bravo!

Julia's smoky eyes

Julia Roberts never disappoints. What's not to adore between her dazzling smile and charming personality? She looked utterly chic in a black and white Dolce & Gabbana dress and upswept hair. While we loved that so many stars were embracing simple makeup looks last night, we have to admit that are crazy for her smokey eyes. They added a sexy touch to a somewhat modest gown.
