Katy Perry’s new album Prism is considerably darker than her last album, and so it looks like Katy is leaving behind her cutesy California girl persona for a darker, moodier vibe. So we’re guessing that her concerts are no longer going to include her donning a pink love heart wig and dancing with people dressed up as sweets. Instead, it sounds like Katy is going for a more serious approach, but according to the singer, it’s going to be memorable regardless.

Apparently Katy Perry’s new concert tour is going to be absolutely awesome, according to…Katy Perry.

Speaking to Capital FM, Katy chatted away about how her new world tour will be unlike anything other music artists have ever done – this has confused us, as we thought Lady Gaga had done EVERYTHING by now!

The 29-year-old star said: "I'm just really excited. I just did a big tour meeting yesterday and saw the graphic drawing of the stage and it's unlike anything I've seen for any other artist and it's unlike anything I've ever done.

“It's different, it's fresh, it's clean and it's actually in the middle of the audience it feels like.”

It’s exciting times for her British fans as well, since the Fireworks singer is planning on kicking off the tour in the UK, something she has never done before. She said: “I love that I'm kicking it off here in the UK, so much so, because I've never done that and it raises the bar for me.”

We are a very closed off, polite and judgemental bunch Katy, good luck!

The tour, which will be called Prismatic, will open in the UK in May 2014. Before then, it looks like the Roar singer has been making the most of her relationship with John Mayer, and has been having a lovely time performing their duet, Who You Love, on his tour in New York City.

The appearance at John’s concert, named Paradise Valley, was to the delight of his fans as he said: "I'd like to welcome to the stage someone we all love, Miss Katy Perry!”

John has definitely been hugely complimentary of his girlfriend, and gushed about her on Good Morning America as well. He told them: "Katy is a superstar for a reason," he said on the morning show. "That's the thing about working with somebody you love. You get to see them. I had to [make] a video in order to get to see my girlfriend."

"It's a pretty big moving target to be a couple and have a song, but there's an authenticity to it."

We do love that song, but how much did the recording studio have to do with making it sound perfect? Apparently Katy mimed at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, when she mistimed her miming and her little secret was exposed to the world. Whoops!
