Newly divorced couples have been celebrating their divorce via Facebook and Twitter, using the hashtag #DivorceSelfie to show that rather than regretting the direction of your marriage, you are celebrating the good times you had together and have to come.
Shannon and Chris Neuman (pictured below) began the new trend when they posted a snap on Instagram of them grinning outside of Court after filing for divorce. Since then the picture has been shared over 30,000 times.
Shannon explained the snap in a Facebook post, saying: "We’re smiling because we have done something extraordinary (we think anyway!) We have respectfully, thoughtfully and honourably ended our marriage in a way that will allow us to go forward as parenting partners for our children, the perfect reason that this always WAS meant to be, so they will never have to choose.”

It just goes to show that although divorce is one of the hardest things that can happen to a person, there is a way of coming out of it smiling and still affectionate of one another just like these couples.
