Bekah Miles is a student who was diagnosed with depression a year ago, and is beginning to open up vital discussion about depression by sharing snaps of her tattoo - a tribute to her condition which reads 'I'm fine' to anyone reading it normally, but 'save me" from Bekah's perspective. The picture, which was shared on Facebook and Instagram, has gone viral by encouraging sufferers to speak out about their mental illness.

Bekah shared her tattoo on Facebook while bravely breaking down mental health stigma by writing: "Today, I am coming out with something that only few of you know. I am ready to have a conversation about my mental illness.”

The tattoo, which suggests that you never really know who's suffering if they seem okay, has now had over 300,000 shares. Speaking of the clever tattoo, Beckah said: "To me, it means that others see this person that seems okay, but, in reality, is not okay at all. It reminds me that people who may appear happy, may be at battle with themselves."

Since Bekah wanted to be forthcoming about her depression, she is delighted by the positive response it has had and the doors it has opened for other sufferers to speak about their condition. She said: "I am completely and utterly in awe of how far this has traveled. This is exactly what I wanted--to reach out to people and let them know that they are not alone...please, please, please don't stop the conversation. It needs to keep going.”
