Any fan of Marnie on HBO's Girls has rolled their eyes a hundred times this season if they've rolled them once. Desperate for attention, poor Marnie is stooping to new lows, singing showtunes in bars and crying over coffeehouse Ray. Her recent storyline is a 180° from the "I have my sh*t together" Marnie we all know and love.
Luckily, Allison Williams' real life love life is a far cry from Marnie's mess. The 25-year-old actress is engaged to her boyfriend of three years, 32-year-old College Humor co-founder Ricky Van Veen.

The two met through mutual friends. Ricky counts musician John Mayer among his closest friends.

In a word, yes. Allison has said her dad likes Ricky "a lot." In January, Allison told Larry King, "It's serious, they are well aware," referring to her parents' knowledge of her romantic relationship.
It seems the proposal comes at the perfect time, as Allison has been talking about wanting to settle down and start a family.
In fact, Allison told Glamour magazine in its March issue, "I'd love to be a mom — and not have to bring my kids into my trailer."
