Next week, we'll see Maddie go into meltdown as she struggles to cope with her parents' impending divorce. Feeling like she can’t confide in anyone, Maddie decides she wants some fun in the sun.

Along with her closest friends, Maddie heads off to the Morrison family holiday home in Abersoch. But things don’t go to plan, as an unwelcome Esther (Jazmine Franks) unexpectedly turns up and ruins the trip.

Though she's popular, beautiful and smart, life isn't as simple as some might think for the girl who seems to have it all.

And that’s just the start of the drama in Abersoch...

Sofeminine decided there was no other choice but get to the bottom of it all...

Hi Scarlett! Tell us a bit more about how Maddie feels when she finds out her parents’ are divorcing?

It’s a massive shock I think. She always tries to give the impression that everything is absolutely perfect, and initially she tries to pretend everything is still fine.

She gets home from school and finds out that everything certainly isn’t fine and she freaks out. I think she’s embarrassed about it too and doesn’t know how she’s going to tell her friends and everyone at school.

She doesn’t like being this vulnerable person.

Why is Maddie so upset when Esther arrives in Abersoch?

They don’t get on anyway, but Maddie is furious when Esther gate crashes their holiday in Abersoch.

Critically that moment when she arrives is the worst - Maddie had organised a big, amazing, lavish picnic for all her closest friends on the beach.

She’s there with Sinead, George and Tilly, and she’s almost about to open up about the stuff that’s gone on with her family. She’s just about to tell them everything and then Esther arrives and ruins that.

So Maddie is fuming because Esther has ruined her chances of finally opening up her feelings to her friends.

Was it nice to have a change of scenery and spend time filming on the Welsh coast?

Yeah it was great. The weather was hot - like super-hot. All the crew and cast were staying together in Abersoch itself.

Last year when we filmed there we stayed somewhere a little bit outside, but this time it was really nice being in the centre of the town and a few seconds away from each other. It was lovely, really fun.

Were you filming the whole time or did you get to have some fun in Abersoch?

I was filming the whole time and we had quite a hectic schedule. We filmed all day, every day. It was full on but it was great, especially because all the crew were together and we were outside on the beach.

Can you tell me any funny stories from Abersoch?

I had to do this scene with Jazmine (who plays Esther), which was the equivalent of half a day spent in the gym! It involved running up and down this sand dune in proper heat. We probably did it about 50 times, and we had to do it really fast.

At one point I went flying down this bloody dune, which Jazmine said was very funny. We both got drenched in sand, I even had it in my ears...

Was that captured on camera?!

Luckily no! We were getting back into first position running back up the dune to do the take again.

What do you think is in store for Maddie after Abersoch?

I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, but it will involve her relationship with Esther and how that pans out.

What’s been your favourite storyline so far?

All of them! There’s never a dull moment. It’s fun playing Maddie because nothing in her life can be simple. She’s really complicated - it’s a juicy part to play.

She’s always got a hidden agenda. The divorce storyline has been interesting because it’s good to show another side to her character, apart from just being a bitch. We haven’t really seen Maddie at home with her family, and why she is the way she is.

And also Abersoch was really fun.

You've said that you ‘like playing a bitch’ but do you think we're seeing a softer side to Maddie - especially in terms of her emotional state after her parents’ split?

Yeah you will a little bit, but also I think she’s the kind of person who will go into bitch mode at the same time. That’s her coping mechanism.

Maddie is a pretty complicated girl. It’s hard to know what she’s thinking as she comes across as being fine, even when she’s really struggling.

We're dying to know - will Maddie and Callum ever get back together?

Never say never, but I definitely think there's a lot of water under the bridge. I don’t know... Callum and Maddie are so different, but they’re good together.

He keeps her grounded, which I think Maddie needs... But I mean it’s not up to me!

Maddie always has the juiciest storylines - do you think things will ever calm down for her?

She’s quite a complicated character and there is so much to her. She has so many different facets, so it’s fun to play her. But no, I don’t think things will ever be drama-free in her world.
