Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have been engaged for nearly a year and speculation over when and where they will finally tie the knot rages on. With the pair both favouring different cities, Justin's mum is on the case to make sure these love birds get down the aisle.

Justin Theroux's mother Phyllis has reportedly got herself involved in her son's wedding arrangements with Jennifer Aniston.

The actor's mum is apparently desperate for the pair to get hitched and wants them to remember just why they're making all these plans.

The couple are said to have been um-ing and ah-ing over various aspects of their big day, which caused Phyllis to worry that her son and Jen were losing sight of why they got engaged in the first place.

The couple were recently spotted at the restaurant where they got engaged last August, Blue Hill in Manhattan - and it seems that was thanks to Phyllis.

A source explained to Grazia that she was "trying to get them to recapture the magic."

With decisions over where to wed and where to live still up in the air, Phyllis was reportedly hoping to sway Jen eastwards.

The insider added: "She, like her son, is keen for Jen and Justin to get married on the East Coast instead of having a big blowout Hollywood bash.

"Justin says he hopes his mother's lobbying will help. He's aware the Phyllis has more clout with Jen than he does."

The Friends actress and her future mother-in-law are said to get on famously.

The insider said: "Jennifer is slowly coming round to the idea of marrying in New York.

"Living there, however, is another matter for now."

Jennifer recently addressed the stories surrounding her lengthy engagement and assured people there have been no delays or conflicts.

The choices they have to make over date, time and place are not easy and they will take their time to decide.

She told the media at the premiere for her new movie, We're The Millers: "We just want to do it when it's perfect.

"We're not rushed, and no-one is rushing from a job or rushing to a job."

Jen, 44, continued: "We have yet to set any dates.

"There have been no cancelled weddings. There have been no postponed weddings.

"There have been no arguments about where to get married. Just clearing all that up."

So we're still no closer to knowing if the wedding will be California chic or New York cool…unless Phyllis gets her way!
