Today is International Women's Day, which means there's no better day to appreciate the women around you. The theme of this year's International Women's Day is to "make it happen," to demand greater equality between men and women. This inspired us to not waste any time to tell the women we see every day why they make us better. So today, be sure to #TellHer!

International Women's Day has been around since 1977 when the United Nation's officially marked March 8th as the day to celebrate women's rights and international peace. This year, the UN has called for the public to "empower women and empower humanity," which the International Women's Day movement has called to action with their theme "make it happen."

Even though you may not be a delegate of the UN, it doesn't mean you can't "make it happen" and help empower those women around you. How can you do that you may ask? Well, it's as simple as telling the women around you why they are so fabulous and why they make you better.

The sofeminine team and all our colleagues from our other websites in the Aufeminin group decided to inspire you to do the same by putting together a video to encourage you to join our movement and remind you to #TellHer.

#TellHer Why She's So Fabulous!

Tell the females you see at home, work or even on your commute why they are great people or how they make your day better. Whether it's your sister who is constantly inspiring you, your mum who supports you or your colleague who always goes the extra mile, tell her why she's fab.

Here's just a few of the reasons the women in our lives are so important. When are you going to tell that special woman in your life? #TellHer today!

Help us start the #TellHer movement by joining us on Twitter and tweeting us what you are going #TellHer! #MakeItHappen #IWD Follow us @sofeminineUK
