Inspired by the Impressionists, designer Elie Saab presents a collection based on water gardens...

In the midst of flower beds, delicate and transparent creations appear with lace or a fine layer of tulle to add body. For Saab, it's a question of subtlety.

There are soft hues of powder pink, Japanese yellow, celadon green and Majorelle blue, while cascades of tulle and muslin are superimposed beautifully. Watercolour prints on organza and muslin give a hint of springtime in Eden.

Highlights included babydoll cocktail frocks in lace and embroidered with sequins. Another was a long dress in lilac lace with asymmetric straps draped on the side and embroidered with pearls and flowers.

Draped in silk chiffon, the spring/summer Elie Saab woman is caught between romance and ingenue.
