One Direction star Niall Horan got stuck in a lift and freaked out

by Emmy Griffiths Published on 13 December 2013

Poor Niall Horan. The One Direction star might have no problem performing in front of thousands and thousands of people every night of the week, but apparently he gets utterly terrified in small spaces. Yesterday he tweeted to his millions of fans that he was stuck in a tiny lift with a bunch of other people. Perhaps he only feels comfortable in huge arenas?

Niall Horan live tweeted as he was stuck in a lift yesterday, and we’ve never heard the One Direction singer sound so terrified!

The 1D boys are currently enjoying a promotional tour in Milan, Italy and have been tweeting about the amazing reaction they’ve had from fans.

However the happy days took a turn for the worse for poor Niall, who lost the plot on the social media site after he became stuck in a lift with eight other people.

He wrote: "Needed a few minutes to myself! 8 of us got stuck in a tiny lift! Well I was freakin out! My heart is still thumping now!"

Since poor Niall is a complete claustrophobe, it sounds like he totally panicked in the situation. He then joked a little later, after he calmed down: “That wasn't fun! Claustrophobia is a terrible thing! and people tellin ya t calm down is worse hahha."

We reckon some One Directioners are kicking themselves for telling him to keep taking deep calming breaths!

We don’t know who was there with him, but we can imagine there would be millions of fans quite happy to brave the crushing claustrophobia and be in that lift!

The One Direction boys – Niall, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik – have had a crazy couple of weeks, which included the boys hanging out at the Anchorman 2 premiere with the film's stars Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner.

The Anchorman crew and One Direction have met already after presenting SNL together, and the actors gushed about the band. Steve said: “They were great. They are actually incredible sweet guys and really talented. I was impressed by them. Actually, before I left SNL that was the last thing I said.

“I told them all, to see people, to see young men that are so popular and so successful and so grounded and cool and nice is really great to see.”

Will Ferrell agreed, and said: “They are actually great guys in that boyband world, they have no attitude. They are actually the sweetest guys and were so excited to sing 'Afternoon Delight' with us that it was great. And they have beautiful hair so I can't argue with them.”

We think they have beautiful hair as well Will. And faces. Sadly Kanye West didn't make such a good impression on the Anchorman 2 cast...
