Renting nail polish? We can’t work out if it’s utterly genius or crazy insane. On the one hand it solves the issue of gloopy, had-its-day nail paint that we insist on holding onto in the hope that it will make a miraculous recovery. On the other, what else is our sister’s polish collection for? Renting handbags we can get on board with but nail polish? We're not convinced!

We see what the founders of Coloristiq were getting at when they came up with this online rental service for nail polish. Really, we do. But at the same time, just NO.

So how does it work? You sign up for £14.49 a month and in return you get to trial three professional nail polishes from big brands including OPI, China Glaze, Essie and Morgan Taylor. Kudos where kudos is due, that's cheaper than buying three nail pots a month.

But while having the Netflix equivalent for your nails sounds genius in reality we don't wanna be painting our phalanges while mulling over whose mouldy toes have been all over that brush #vom

Apparently Coloristiq have a solution for that though. An inspection team. Yep, they've recruited an actual, real life fungal nail squad. When you're done with your personally chosen polishes you return them free of charge ready for the glamour mob to inspect. It. Just. Gets. Better.

The team monitor the usage of the each of the bottles to ensure you only use them for nine paintings. Any breach of the terms and conditions and you're officially... a criminail. Yep, we went there.
