Summary
  1. · Flat waves
  2. · Two tone pony
  3. · Wet look roots
  4. · Messy braid

We love pinching hot hairstyles from the runway, our only trouble is how do we recreate them at home without a backstage beauty entourage to hand? Award winning hair stylist Mark Woolley is part of L'Oréal Professionnel’s Portfolio of Artistic Hairdressers and is the entrepreneur behind the exclusive Electric Hair, safe to say he was perfectly placed to show us how to nail this season's hottest hairstyle trends.

Flat waves

This look is really easy to achieve but looks so edgy that people are bound to think you've had professional help. Wear this look with freshly pressed flat waves to channel your inner nineties wild child or mess them up with a hairbrush for a softer, more seventies style.

To create this look you will need:

Straighteners
Section clips
Strong hold spray (We recommend Tecni.ART Fix Design!)
A brush

  • Part the hair before you start into small, thin and manageable sections
  • Take a section of hair and bend away from the head to create the start of an S shape
  • Lightly pinch the straighteners over the S shape to hold the curl
  • Bend/weave the hair through the fingers in the opposite direction using the S shape as a guide
  • Continue to pinch straighteners on the belly of the curl to create the flat effect
  • Repeat this over the whole head to get a full head of Medusa crazy curls
  • Spray with Tecni.ART Fix Design to set curls to set curls
  • Alternatively brush out the curls for big, bouncy waves

Two tone pony

Some things never go out of style and the ponytail is one of them. The latest twist on this trend involves playing with texture. Try slicked back, wet look roots with a sleek pony for a catwalk ready finish.

To create this look you will need:

A large paddle brush
Tecni.ART Wet Domination Shower Shine Spray

  • Spray the roots of your hairline with Tecni.ART Wet Domination Shower Shine Spray to give a wet look texture
  • Sleek hair back using a paddle brush and pull into a pony tail at the nape of the neck
  • Take a piece of hair from the pony and wrap it around the band
  • Secure with a bobby pin
  • Spritz flyaways with the Shower Shine Spray and smooth with hands

Wet look roots

This look is sexy as, and only those who dare can truly get away with it. If your hair isn't naturally straight we recommend that you straighten it before.

To create this look you will need:

A hairdryer
Tecni.ART Wet Domination Shower Shine Spray
Hairbrush

  • Blowdry hair to create a smooth finished look
  • Take Tecni.ART Wet Domination Shower Shine Spray, directing it at the roots of the hair when blowdrying with hot air to create the wet look effect

Messy braid

There are a million ways to wear a braid but SS15 sees braids looking messy, romantic and freshly teased. Our go to look for summer? Definitely!

To create this look you will need:

Long hair!
A hairbrush
A hair tie/hair elastic
Section clips

  • Take one section at the top of the head and put in a loose diagonal plait
  • The remainder of the hair is then split into 2 pieces; making 3 sections all together
  • Using all 3, braid together to get a rope effect
  • Spray the finished look with Tecni.ART Crépage De Chignon for added messy texture
