Unicorn Eyeliner is The Saviour 2016 Needs

If 2016 was an animal, it'd be a unicorn as the mythical mascot turned most-used Emoji was the glimmer of light in the many moments of darkness over the past 12 months. And now like a glittering, female knight in shining armour, unicorn eyeliner has galloped into our lives just in time to save us all. Like all unicorn-inspired beauty trends that have come before it (from horn hairstyles and rainbow highlighter to all-out unicorn fancy dress), it's a sight to behold.

If you didn't attempt at least one unicorn-inspired beauty trend in 2016, did you even do 2016? If the answer's no then you still have time and we have just the thing for you. Enter: unicorn eyeliner. The magical creature many of us aspired to be at some point in the last 12 months is enjoying yet another rebirth in the form of this latest liner craze.

The people of Instagram are upgrading their standard feline flicks with more colourful versions and you're going to want in on it. While eye make-up art is nothing new, this horny variety is a lot more SFW (suitable for work) than its predecessor penis eyeliner.

Anything goes when it comes to unicorn liner but the underlying rule is: 'the more colourful the better' and the basic premise involves drawing a pointy horn with anything other than black and decorating it to your heart's desire. You know what they say - always be a unicorn - now you can.

Here's some inspiration to keep you going well into 2017:
